Leeds is just in the beginning stages of a massive change. Redeveloping the city centre by building large scale shopping centres and opening different high-end retail stores is just the beginning. Businesses in London are moving their offices to Leeds due to cheaper prices and easy access to the rest of the UK. this leads to more job opportunities which again leads to the need for more buildings to house new citizens.
As an international student it is interesting to be able to see the differences of London and Leeds and how quick Leeds is catching up with the vibrant life we find in London. Special guest, Nicole Larkan, who is studying city planning will be joining me for a short conversation about the changes citizens in Leeds and what we should expect. The conversation is inspired by Leeds City Council’s Development Plan Document from 2007 and Harvey Nichols moving expanding to Leeds.
