I am an experienced young professional currently working and studying in Leeds. I am presently undertaking a Master’s degree in PR and Strategic Communication, as well as working full time in Financial Services.
I attended Crossley Heath grammar school in Halifax, completing A levels in Psychology, History and English Language. Following this, I studied Media, Communication and cultural studies at Newcastle university.
During my time in Newcastle, I also balanced several roles with local employers alongside my studies. These included an Admin Assistant at an Insurance Brokers, a Collections Agent at Santander, and an Outbound Sales Representative.
After graduating, I returned to West Yorkshire and secured a graduate role with business outsourcing company Capita. I have worked in several roles for Capita, currently operating as a Subject Matter Expert and Quality Analyst.
Maintaining high levels of quality and productivity during my first year with Capita meant that I could progress to a more experienced role, a notable early success. Having shown a capability to provide both support and knowledge to others, I have moved into a Quality based role.
I am experienced in managing my time and workload, achieving targets, and problem solving daily. Dealing with the client’s needs and expectations is also something I have first-hand experience of. I have also become a more effective communicator through my work experience, and have extensive experience of working in different teams. I have become very adaptable and comfortable with change, having dealt with a quickly changing environment.
Having worked in financial services for some time, I am now looking to make a career change. I hope my Master’s course can further build on the skills and knowledge I attained during my undergraduate studies, and allow me to forge a new career path in Communications or Public Relations.
