I am currently a second year student at Leeds Beckett University studying Public Relations. I am a social, enthusiastic, motivated individual with a genuine passion for communication. I am keen and driven to pursue a career in Public Relations and I am looking for the opportunity to gain experience in this sector. I wish to develop my skills and understanding of the industry and I am keen to learn from those more experienced than myself. I am enjoying my studies considerably at the moment as my course provides a huge scope of topics in the business school that have provided we with a huge set of transferable skills that I hope I will get the opportunity to carry over into the work place. Digital Media which teaches a variety of digital skills, Communication campaigns which involves communicating with various other international students around the world to develop a campaign. And internal communications which teaches the inner workings of communication on the business. All of which I feel so far, I have learnt a lot from and am looking forward to what next year brings. To date I have interned with a events company in Leeds, assisting with their social media, event management, face to face PR, producing and promoting content. This allowed me to have a true insight into working in industry and I am keen to pursue further work experience opportunities to broaden my skill set. I feel as a person one of my best attributes is my social intelligence. I am confident in communicating with people in an approachable, professional and genuine way and believe I am able to read situations and people effectively allowing me to cater my communication style according to the person and situation. I hope that these skills will lead me to work opportunities in the PR sector after my studies and that I can find my passion and specialise my skills.
