I am currently a post graduate student at Leeds Beckett University studying Public Relations and Strategic Communications. I previously studied Psychology for my undergraduate degree and I have more than 4 years of experience in hospitality and social media management. I have found that working in various sectors and holding the responsibility of being the front of house face to guests or clients has helped to broaden my knowledge and understanding of the workings of PR. While working at The Tyke Bar Leeds I had my first experience with internal communications which induced my interest in PR. What I regard as my highest commended personal attributes are my forward-thinking attitude and flexible temperament which have been especially brought to light through team tasks in University and employment. My communication and social skills have been particularly homed in throughout my studies, through creating and completing presentations and working in a multitude of international teams to ensure that planning is thorough and that innovation is employed. My short-term aim is striving to graduate; beyond this, I hope to pursue a career in issues management which is a topic that has interested me greatly throughout the course, especially as I conduct research for my dissertation. Pursuing work in the PR industry will allow me to utilise the skills learned to identify topical issues in order to find a resolution and to engage and communicate effectively with publics.
