My name is Katie Martin and I am a full time student, part-time blogger, and have a love for all things travel. I completed my high school education in the small province of Nova Scotia, in the even smaller town of Kingston. The four years that I was lucky enough to have in Canada were incredible. My family and I then carried on our RAF adventure to Southern Maryland, USA, where the rest of my family are still enjoying their American dream. My experience in the PR world started when I was running my school's charity 'Me to We' team, where I was able to get my hands stuck in with organizing money raising activities and ways to help our homeless community. This opportunity abled me to really engage with leadership skills, time management and problem-solving abilities. I'm a rather laid back person and I tend to go with the flow, which is what I imagine you'll feel when reading my rather sporadic pieces, however, I have an interesting insight to travel and have stories on how to make friends when you've got a "funny" accent. I've always had a positive outlook on life and like to make the best of every situation, which in return makes me a creative person. I enjoy communication with all individuals, I work hard and I am an excellent team player whether it be in a group task or with the children I work with at a nursery. I, like everyone else, would like to be successful in life. My long-term goal is to work in-house PR and I would really love to work for a charity organization so I would be using my skills for good, and to give back. As of right now, I am working hard on getting a placement for this coming year and really want to expand my knowledge.
