From a young age I have been drawn to engaging with audiences, a passion which stemmed from performing in various school and extra-curricular productions. As I grew older this love led me to participate in the National Citizenship Service award and later become head of my Sixth Form Debate Society. These activities demonstrate my confidence in public speaking, teamwork and leadership skills. I have also always been an extremely creative individual, attracted to activities and careers that enable me to be both imaginative and inventive. After visiting Kew Gardens whilst on holiday in 2012 my creative flare was enhanced as I discovered a knack and love for photography. Recently I started writing a personal blog which enables me to be both expressive and creative with the content I produce. In doing this I have uncovered a joy for writing as well as aided my written communication skills. I also worked as a social media consultant for an independent company coaching on what content is appropriate to achieve maximum interaction from target audiences, this assisted in developing my communication and pitching skills. My various hobbies, interests and work experience have led to me to enrolling on the BAPR (Hons) course at Leeds Beckett University, in which I am currently in my second year and appointed course representative. A career in Public Relations is something I aspire towards as I feel it is not only well suited to my personal and professional skills but also something that will allow me to exercise my creativity. As an avid lover of music TV and film, I hope to eventually work in the entertainment PR industry, but I have also recently developed an interest in the relationship between brands and Social Media influencers and wish to gain some experience exploring that element of PR too.
